Who looks at the Agenda for the Kennel Club Agility Liaison Council Meeting! Trouble is it does affect us all so I thought I would let you have some information about what they are going to discuss.
Have a look at Annex A. It is suggesting that dogs must be attended and tethered in garden areas!!!! More
By the way, these are my thoughts, not necessarily the clubs and will not include everything so if you want to read the agenda, have a look. More |
The first thing they are going to look at is developing a Code of Conduct further. Ooooops sorry I did not know we had one, I must ask Pauline and Mike! Anyway, the Activities Sub Committee wants them to look at the issues of tethered dogs and bicycles in the exercise and ring areas and a whole load of issues about queuing, camping and car parking areas and exercise area. Quite a few ‘musts and ‘no’ good and bad, including ‘Handlers under 14 must not queue with dogs without adult supervision’ and No toys/balls/etc to be thrown in the Exercise Area. Have a look. More
The two priorities in the 5 year strategy which is going to be discussed are
To seek a method to attract unknown clubs to become registered with the Kennel club and
To ensure members in an agility team event all train at the same club.
They will obviously make a great difference to our club!
Mr M Tait, a private individual, is proposing that the Pause Box, Table and Pipe Tunnel are no longer used as agility obstacles.
Other issues are the International Agility Festival and the Judges Working Party reports and a number of other areas where there is going to be ‘a verbal update’ including Agility Control Test, Fun Agility Guidelines and International Agility Teams.
What do you think?
