Agility World  -  We need to stop this?

You need to make up your own mind. Below is a statement which it is said was issued by one of the Galgo rescues.

hello from spain
all this happend in september last year and here some facts, i have researched them long time ago as i do not like to forward information without investigation
i'm not in pro of this, of course, but it is not half as bad as the petition sais and i personally think that the "artist" got only worldwide known due to the protests of the animalists:

- the story got known after it has been presented in 1 single blog

- there is absolute no proof that the dog died there

- there is no picture of its dead, nothing. all pictures have been made the very same day of the vernissage of the exhibition.

- the dog is not in such bad shape because of starvation, he obvlously has leishmania (typpical in this part of the world)

- the dogs was cought the day before the exposition in a poor part of the city and brought to the gallery

- the dogs we exhibited "only" for 3 hours on the first day of the exhibition and 2 days more , also 3 hours, then he escaped from the courtyard where he was kept

- not one single visitor of the exhibition had questioned the dog being exposed like that

- VARGAS HABACUC (the artist) is owner of 2 mongrels adopted from the streets in his town

- he refuesed to say if the dog has been fed on an radio interview i heared but in the statement of the galery it is clear that the dog was fed and kept in good care, the owner of the gallery wanted to adopt NATIVIDAD , (the name of the dog)

- this dogs was exposed in that way because some time ago a man called NATIVIDAD was attacked and killed by a group of rottweilers and nobody cared for the man's horrible dead and VARGAS wanted to show that more people care for the "suffering" of a dog than of the dead of a man...

- i have heard a long radio interview with VARGAS and he said clearly that in the 3 days exhibition not one sinlge person had questioned the exposure of the dog or had asked to feed or free the dog.

Personally I think it was a provocation and a cheap and easy way for VARGAS to get famous. Remember the "bonsai kitten"?

The idea to expose the dog was sick of course but i find it equally worrying that nobody complained about the situation of the dog during its exhibition and it shows the hipocracy we are living in

VARGAS "HABACUC" refused to talke about the case as this makes him ever more "interesting" to the media but in the country where the exposition happend, during the exposition was not one police report made against the cruelty and no animal welfare oganisation tried to close the event. everything only began with a weblog (blog) of one single person.

i'm of course against all animal mistreatment but i find it frustrating to see how many people complain about the not even proved death of a dog and then on the other hand today starts the brutal massacre of 275'000 seals and thousands of galgos have been already eliminated this year in the killing stations of spain and we still did not manage to stop it ...
