URGENT: ACT NOW to end tail docking
The RSPCA urgently needs your help in securing a ban on the tail docking of dogs.
All docking is painful, unnecessary, and deprives a dog of its best means of expression. In two or three weeks' time, MPs will be voting on whether to ban the tail docking of dogs. The RSPCA, British Veterinary Association and other welfare groups are concerned that MPs may vote for an exemption on the tail docking of gundogs - however as there is no evidence to say any breed of dog is more prone to tail injury than another, no exemption should be allowed.
We urgently need your help to ensure there is a total ban on the brutal practice of tail docking.
What can you do to help?
Write or e-mail your MP urging them to vote for a total ban on the tail docking of dogs during the report stage of the Animal Welfare Bill - to find out the contact details of your MP, please go to: http://www.locata.co.uk/commons/ or call: 020 7219 3000. - Visit your MP during his/her surgery. Speaking to your MP directly is an effective way of getting your message across.
